My cat thinks shes the boss around here. Sits in the doorway and stares then comes licks me on the nose and tries to get me to follow her somewhere, either its bed, or check her food bowl (its automatic feeder, she likes me to touch her food and watch her eat). Do your pet have a funny way of telling you that they are the boss?

This is your cat trying to be the Alpha Male/Female. My Bulldog does the same thing with me, she knows my boyfriend is the "Alpha Male" but she is always fighting me for second place. She is the most love-able dog and we don't fight or she doesn't bite me or anything like that but If I am on the couch, laying in bed or even in the shower she will sit and wait for me and then bark until i come out of the shower or off of what I am doing. If I am laying on the floor she will stand over me all stout and proud as if she is dominating me. She is hilarious when it comes to this stuff.
you are the boss of your pet you must always be in control this does not mean for you to mistreat them but control is yours
When my cat gets bored in the morning he will sit by our bed and meow at my boyfriend and I until we pay attention to him! Sometimes it's cute, sometimes.
I let my dog think she's the boss until I want her to do something. Then, there's no other way. I never raise my voice or hit her but when I softly say "No" or "UP" "SIT" or "CHAIR" (meaning get up in the chair), she always does what I want but if anyone else tries to get her to do the same thing, it's so funny...she just sits there and looks at me and waits to get my approval.. haha
No, but my rabbits do. :-)
Dogs have owner, cats have staff, rabbits have slaves.
my cat that is real old does that shell follow me and i go to the food dish and she likes when i watch her eat!!!!
Never! I don't allow it!
I speak cat and dog.
Your cat is saying mommy.
Perhaps you got her too young but she thinks you are her mother.
And as you now your children will try to rule your life.
The great thing about pets is they don't grow out of this behavior so you will always feel wanted and appreciated.
Enjoy.
As for dogs, the same is true. The younger you get them the more attached to you they become, but they do tend to be more territorial than cats and therefore less demanding and more protective.
Yes my cat is the boss of me. My cat is an outdoor cat and sometimes if she is hungry at five in the morning she will meow so loud and continuously that I have to get up and feed her because I can't get back to sleep and I worry the neighbours might complain. Also sometimes during the day when she wants some attention she does the same thing until I go out there. Once I am outside she lies doen on her back so I can pat her tummy.
My Pug tries to be the boss. Usually she does this at dinner time. We put her in her crate so she will not jump all over us and she barks non-stop as if to say "let me out and give me some of your food now!"
