how about the old west in general? also the horse is the reason a car has HORSE power. ford wanted to convey to ppl just how fast a car could go so he termed it horse power since ppl had not heard of cars.

The war, stock horses or rather the waler, were used to bring wounded men from teh battle field to the First Aid tents.
Indians have used horses for centuries, The Nez Perce Indians of Idaho, used the Appaloosa horse because of its camoflaging colour, they could hide and stalk prey with the benefits of the colour but also the sturdyness of their hooves, and their willingness to perform as asked.

did you forget that the car/motor vehicle has only been around for little more than 100+yrs...this is 2007. horses have been around since before jesus was born...hello the donkey carried baby jesus to the little inn where he was born...all of the terrible wars that have gone on for the past couple thousand years have carried the warriors to their death beds and the ones that didnt die were carried to victory. then you have the old west and the gun fighters and the cattlemen...and the present rodeos and present farms and ranches that carry the cowboys to this day...and the derbys and races...even theraputic riding horses.remember horses are present today! not just in history!!
