Answers:
I Breed Them So I Can Give You Some 1st Hand Advice.

Tips:

1. Don't Get Just One, They Are Best In Groups Of 3-5

2. Females Are The Ones In Charge In This Type Of Hamster.

3. Males Are Calmer, Bigger %26 Make Great Dads.

Males Are The Way To Go For A Pet, Since Their Less Likely To Bite.

4. The Males Can Be Kept In Small Groups With Out Fighting If Their Are No Females In The Cage.

5. They Bite!

They Are Look At Pets, Not For Holding, But You "May" Get Lucky %26 Get A Tame One.

If You Want A Friendly, Furry Small Fish Tank Pet, Gerbils (I Also Breed Them) Are The Way To Go, They Are Very Friendly %26 Love To Be Held %26 Eat From Your Hands.

6. They Fight Alot, But They Don't Tend To Kill Each Other, They Fight For The Fun Of It I Think...lol

7. They Are Damn Good Parents, Even In Groups With 20 Or More Adults They Take Very Good Care Of The Young.

8. The Deeper The Bedding The Happier The Hamster, They Love To Dig Beds %26 Stay "Under Ground"

Sometimes The Cage Will Look Like No Animals Are In It B/c They All Are Sleeping Under The Bedding.

9. They Love Wheels %26 Small Bits Of Fabric They Can Use To Cover Their Heads %26 Nests With.

10. They Will Kill Hamsters They Don't Know So Get Them Young %26 Keep Them Together. B/c If You Want Another Later You Risk Atleast A 50% Chance They Will Kill The Newbie %26 The Females Tend To Win The Fights.

11. Females Can Be Kept Together But They Gang Up On The Males.

12. They Don't Eat The TP Tubes As Much As Other Small %26 Furries.

13. They Dig Holes %26 Hide Their Food.

14. They Will Kill %26 Eat A Hamster That's Bleeding.

15. They Only Have 4-6 Babies In A Litter (The Bigger Breeds Of Hamster Can Have Up To 20)

Here Is Some Pix Of My Gerbils %26 A Few Of My Hamsters:

i owned dwarf hamsters..they are best when kept in pairs.not very friendly breed.

i suggest a teddy bear hamster or just a regular ol hammster. Dwarves must be kept in pairs and are generally not as friendly
Whats a dwarf hamster
Keep in mind that hamsters are nocturnal creatures. They make no noise, and the dwarf hamsters are especially small.
They require some attention and cleaning their cages and feeding them is a must. Just make sure if it leaves the cage it is in a hamster ball. Try adding fresh vegetables to their diet. They should not be handled too much.
If you're gettng a real youngster be prepared to take him with you everywhere you go - he'll need milk from a syringe every few hours for several weeks after birth.

A tired friend of mine has been at it for nearly a month now!

Go for an slightly older guy he'll be tiny too - good luck they're utlracute!

Buff
