I keep hearing that PETA2 kills animals.
their website is "www.peta2.com"
%26 the site that states they kill animals is " www.petakillsanimals."
help!
Answers:
Just like any other shelter. Sometimes it needs to be done.
No, PETA is "People for the ETHICAL Treatment of Animals"
They are an organization that stands for animal rights and raising awareness of the abuse that goes on.
Peta2 is just the peta organization that is aimed toward teenagers and young adults.
And they are NOT shelter like the person above me said. They are an organization.
Sounds odd. i belonged to PETA %26 they are strong advocates FOR animals %26 their proper care %26 rights.
PETA operates and or funds/supports a lot of animal shelters. To most shelters, the idea of euthanasia is considered more "ethical" than making an animal live in a small cage for its entire natural life, so they put animals that can not be adopted down.
BTW- Petakillsanimals.com is a website run by a right wing "consumer rights" organisation established to help restaurants and companies that people like PETA oppose.
PETA isn't alll for animal protection. I had to research for school and found many of it's prophits are barely given to animal shelters. Also, they believe animals should roam free without being domestically kept. They believe hunting is wrong. Hunting helps control deer populations so that they dont out eat themselves and starve. Though, there are cases where there's over hunting, but laws have come into play for that. Sometimes it seems they don't understand the differences between domestic and wild animals. If they paid more attention to helping the animals out instead of throwing pigs blood on celebs wearing faux fur, they might actually be a good organization.
Honestly I am an animal rights activist and those photos may be true. But now go to your local humane society. They say that they are a no kill shelter but in reality this is false. There is such an immense amount of unwanted animals in the world that no one can save all that they rescue. Some animals that are rescued from abusive homes are usually too messed up and aggresive to be placed in another home. This can be dangerous to the people and their new pet. Some animals are safer being put down. This also leaves room for animals that are healthy and would make a good pet to be adopted. I guarantee every one of those protesters with the "peta kills animals" posters eats meat. Isnt that killing animals. The media does not like Peta because we are strong and determined to get our point across no matter what. When this causes a public problem the media tries to make the true protesters look bad so that everyone watching doesnt focus on why they are truely there. And yes everything Peta2 is telling you about Slaughterhouses is true. I have set up hidden cameras in slaghterhouses all over America that can prove what they say. Those photos are not fake. Though Peta may HUMANELY euthanize animals due to massive overpopulation they still saved these animals from the abuse they would have had to suffer for the entire length of their lives. Anyone who tells you that Peta is wrong is a selfish ignorant jerk that probably has no idea what he or she is saying and just wants attention. "Morgan" I have been an activist for 21 years. I have been all over the US protesting and not once has anyone dumped pigs blood on any fur wearer. We use red paint.
PETA kills animals as well, though it be accidental. I have had to clean up after some PETA activist stands. One case: they set loose all of the animals in the lab. All of those animals had no clue how to live in the wild, most of them died, primarily from starvation of never having to look for food before and then being forced to. I assume many were eaten, but you don't find the bodies that way.
Also they came and threatened us that the goats should not be penned up (why the pick the goats out of everything at a zoo is beyond me, esp when the goats had a 1 acre area). Later that day, all of our goats were dropping off sick. We ended up loosing 4 out of the 15 goats and had 6 of them pretty sick for a while. Turns out they confiscated a proclaimed PETA member with posioned corn.
I completely believe in animal welfare, but I do not see how PETA is a good thing.
PETA2.com is a website owned by the PETA Foundation in Norfolk, Virginia.
Unfortunately, PETAKillsAnimals.com is not totally incorrect in their claims about the animals rights organization. At their main facility in Norfolk, PETA received 17,806 animals from the last half of 1998 through 2005. Of those animals, only 17.1% were adopted. The other 14,419 pets were euthanized. (Copy of PETA's report to governing authorities is available as a .pdf file at http://www.petakillsanimals.com/download...
"PETA collected almost $29 million in donations in 2004 alone, but few donors understand exactly where their money is going. During the past ten years, PETA has spent four times as much on criminals and their legal defense than it has on shelters, spay-neuter programs, and other efforts that actually help animals.PETA spends less than one percent of its multi-million dollar budget actually helping animals." - ActivistCash.com
I'm all for animal welfare, but I'd rather support a local organization.
Yes they do... all those generous donations go to keeping up that "image."
They also support Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front. two extremist terrorist groups who are also funded by Al Qaeda.
