Hamsters eye sight.?

What colours do they see? How far can they see?
and is their sence of smell good?
Answers:
hamster have notoriously poor vision. Don't know about colors. They have a very good sense of smell and act mostly off of this. This is the need for washing hands prior to handling, they often smell food so bite assuming it is food. As far as distance, well it is not uncommon to see a hamster walk right off the edge of a table due to not seeing it.
they can smell a chicken nugget from a half mile away, upwind. they see all colors and have vision like a hawk. hamsters are natures perfect killing machines.
I know for sure that hamsters have incredibly awful vision, and as a result their hearing and their sense of smell are both very heightened...the reason they have poor eye sight is because they are nocturnal so, like cats, they see better in a dark room with maybe a night light or moon light to guide them...however it really doesn't matter what lighting they are in because they have such excellent senses of smell that they can easily navigate just about anywhere
as far as colors go I'm not sure but I THINK they are color blind like dogs and cats are, hope this helps!
they mostly use their hearing since they can only see about a foot in front of them.
i dont know about the colors and how far they can see, but their eyesight is terrible. their sence of smell is very good.
