Hamster has scabs?

hello, i just bought a hamster from the pet store, but he has these things under his fur that feel like scabs. should i be worried?
Answers:
If your hamster was housed with other hamsters then it probably is scabs.

Syrian hamsters are solitary animals and will fight with every other hamster in their cage (many times until death) once they reach sexual maturity. Dwarf hamsters, while they can live in groups, will fight as well. Since I've yet to see a pet store that has their hamsters housed properly, I'm sure this is what has occurred with your hamster.

Watch your hamster, if the scabs haven't gone away or improved in another week, then I'd contact a vet. It could be mites but every mite infested hamster I've seen doesn't have scabs and you can't feel the mites. Hamsters don't usually have a problem with fleas either.
