I just bought a new (male) guinea pig *bob* for my other (male) guinea pig *jimmy* so they play together. but when i put them in a cage together, jimmy started purring and stuck butt/penis (not 4 sure!) in the air and started purring. then bob chases him around and trys to screw him, is it bad for them to be in a cage together? or should i get them a different cage... and YES they are both males! But does anyone know what to do. please help me! I am really worried..

Just like any with any animals, your g. pigs need to be introduced slowly. Putting a new g. pig into a cage with your first g. pig can result in a fight. Introduce your g. pigs slowly in a neutral setting so that they can get used to each other. Do not try to introduce them in one or the other's cage. Sometimes g. pigs, just like people, may not necessarily get along with one another. If this is the case, you will need to keep your g. pigs seperated. Best of luck with your piggies. They are really cute and interesting little animals!

what i would do is get a different cage because i would be worried too.
Okay, first of all you need to follow these instructions for quarantine and introduction for guinea pigs. If you don't, they might get it really bad fights. It sounds like their trying to state their dominance as leader. Please take a look (you may have to scroll a little) : http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm...
You can keep two female guinea pigs together, or a female with a neutered male.
Two brothers that have been brought up together will usually also live in harmony or two unrelated males that are put together as soon as they have been weaned.
The other way you can get males to live together is to introduce a baby male guinea pig to an adult after it is weaned, for an adult male usually has no problem accepting a youngster of about eight to ten week of age.
He may chase it for a bit for he will catch the scent of it's mother but this will soon stop.
Make sure there are places for the little one to retreat to 鈥?small enough so the adult cannot get in.
Despite what some authorities say, two neutered adult males will not get on. Neutering does not stop their aggression.
Never keep a guinea pig with a rabbit. Rabbits can bully and even seriously harm guinea pigs.
basically males rarely will get along with other males and its not a good idea to keep them together.
even brothers will have scuffs and introducing a just weened baby to an adult doesn't always work.
Hello, seems to be bothering you more then them, so I wouldn't worry they seem to be getting along just fine, it's not uncommon for animals to behave this way ..could be more about a dominent thing then sexual..which is also often the case with animals rather then sexual ... if it's bothering you, then seperate them..they won't forget who they are, if you gave them a female, they would breed, but that's a whole nother problem..you will end up with more hamsters then you probably want ..Take Care :)
There fine but just keep a close eye on them...They cant do anything to each other so dont worry...
no animals are allowed to have pleasure to let them be gay doesn't matter
Unrelated male gerbils are not meant to be together. Separate them before one or both of them dies!
