ok my other guinea pig just got put to sleep cause she had a MAJOR infection, but now my other guinea pig is lonely and scting differant! she was walking around outside her cage when i took her out (which she never walks areound) and she started sweaking like she was looking for the other guinea pig! and now she just sits in the little play ohuse inside the cage like she is deperessed.
i have been taking her put alot to play with her (like 3 times a day) and i give her a carrot and stuff
can anyone give me suggestions on little homemade toys i can give to my guinea pig or anything else i can do to make my guinea pig happy?

could this guinea pig got infected by the same bug that infected your other guinea pig? take it to the vet.
You REALLY should get her a new little guinea pig friend; they HATE to be alone, and they very often don't want to eat, drink, or play if they are missing their old friend. Not to scare you or anything, butit's fairly common for them to kinda lose the will to live if they are suddenly left alone.
I am so sory to hear about her friend, too. :( You're doing great by taking such good care of the other one; but I do think that she needs another little pig friend.
Add:on: and like the other poster said, you should make sure that the one you have is not currently sick. that was a good call!
Personally, I would get another. Be sure to introduce it slowly to the new one. Other than that, not much you can do for a very lonely pet.
From personal experiance. Ours did the same thing for about a month. She was so sad. She didn't even want to play. So we took her to a vet. He said the best thing to do is get her another guinea pig or she will probably die. She wasn't even eating. So the best thing to do is get another friend for your guinea pig. - Hope I helped
go to cavyspirit.com and read under the section "social life" and make some decisions. there's alot of good websites that mainly say the same thing about guinea pigs. I had 13 at one point and they were all very fun to have around. I had to just make sure everyone was happy and healthy. Just as all people are different, all animals are different and some do and some don't need a partner to be happy.

Guinea Pigs are very social animal and need companionship. I have always kept mine seperate so they always depended on me for that companionship. The more time you spend with her the better she will be, or consider getting another one or a rabbit. Guinea PIgs and rabbits are fine together, But that is what she needs, you the most you can give her or a new companio.
I would first take the guinea pig to the vet to make sure it does not have an infection as well. While it would be good to get another one to keep it company you might not be ready for this yet. One thing that I have done for my guinea pig is to give it a sock stuffed with the same bedding you use in the cage or a stuffed animal. Just make sure it does not eat the stuffing from the animal. Sometimes they just miss being able to cuddle with another animal and this might help it feel more comfortable. I hope everything works out!
Aw poor thing :(, thats how one of my guinea pigs was I took her out alot more after ours died then we put one of our other guinea pigs near her cage(none of the girls got along). Try after a few weeks getting another female friend for her.
i think the only thing you can do is get another little guinea pig for your guinea pig. Your current one depressse and lonley. you probley arent meaning it but its cruel to only have one guines pig. they are very social creatures, and are much happier when they have a companion.
