Haha Another rat question?

is nibbling ok?it doesn't hurt it is just funny. and how soon is it ok to get a companion for her? I"m planning on getting another female in the next few days.I've had this rat for about 6-8 days.she is friendly but seems lonely. She was with other rats before so i don't think it will be a problem.any other ideas?

She should be fine, accepting a new cage mate. Just make sure they're introduce in neutral area (bathtub w/o water is a nice place). Clean the cage before putting them together, for then one rat's scent won't be overwhelming.

Females are extremely active %26 social, so I would never suggest NOT having a pair!

Do not get one male, one female, like the person above me said. That'll get overwhelming WAY too quickly.

Nibbling should be taken cautiously. If the rat has no history of biting, then it's no big concern. (I have a rat that bit a few times, so he's not allowed to nibble, either).
Rats are social animals so it would be a great idea to get yours a companion but insure they are both female or soon enough you will have more rats than you want.

Pet rats are not prone to biting unless there is some problem with their feeding or they are extremely frightened. A hamster will bite much quicker than a well-kept pet rat ever will.

Another thing to remember is to insure the cage is secure. If pet rats get loose, they will soon become as troublesome as their pesky brethren.

Rats are smart and you can teach them to do tricks. They also show affection unlike other small rodents.
A companion for her is a great idea. The nibbling is probably okay. My rat does that to me occasionaly. I think it is just their way of giving you kisses, as long as it doesn't hurt.
Just Buy 1 female and 1 male! if they repruduce baby you get 7 little red macarony babies!

i got a pet aswel same as you, i started 1 male and 1 female but all of them are dead!
nibbling is just fine, it may even be a sign of affection from your rat!

it is definetely a good idea to get another female. they will have lots of good times together! but be forewarned, they may prefer each other's company over yours, so don't feel too dejected if this becomes the case :)
rats are very social and very much enjoy other rats company. if you just got her you cant expect her not to be afraid of you a little by nibbling. are you sure its nibbling sometimes it feels like it but its not.
nibbling can be a sign of affection. my littlest boy does it when he's feeling lovey. as long as it doesn't turn into nipping or biting it shouldn't be a problem. she should have been brought home with another female. but other than the three week quarantine intros should go quickly with the girls. boys have to be introduced slower.
