How do you get a hamster used to being picked up? i have tried everything i can think of? I've tried her getting used to my smell and food on the hand! But once you do have her she backs out and escapes, got her a lead just to get her used to being held but that doesn't seem to be helping? Help!!!

well u have to hold them a little bit each day till it gets used to it put the lead on it so it can not back out but i do not understand how it can back out if you hold it in your hands? hold it in a towell and lightly put the towell over its eyes
your hamster is just playing. Most hamsters wiggle about...it's their idea of fun!
Try wrapping her in a small towel or blanket or maybe a small box or bowl or something to get used to it. Then gradually move her into your hand.

how long have u had her? if she's only been there for one day ten you SHOUD"T try to pick her up she has to get used to everything for about another 2 days then it will be ok to hold her

I once had hamsters and one bit me and they all three died! No more hamsters, ever!! Great cat food! And If my cat ever bit me it would become some great dog food!
wash your hands before you handle her, get her an exercise ball to run in around the house, put tape on it when in use because the lid falls off if they bang in to something. Let her run on your bed give her treats.
