Hair dye on animals?

can hair dye be used on animals?cats, maybe?
Answers:
Not normal hair dye you purchase at WalMart.

You CAN use plant-based dyes on your pets, as they do not have anything harmful in them. Which is the main reason you don't use regular hair dye on an animal, think about it.. Dying YOUR hair causes itchiness and sometimes burning, why would you inflict that on an animal who doesn't care if it's fur is a certain colour?

If you DO dye your pets hair use either food colour or a plant based dye. Both are easily accessable. Do not try anything else as it's very cruel to the animal. Also, there is nothing that will lighten fur. If your pet's fur is darker, there isn't any type of dye you can use that won't run the risk of injuring your pet.
Yes but i think its unnaceptable because it burns their scapl. It really hurts them and makes them loose their hair earlier
I think hair dye is highly toxic...not to us but to smaller mammals and whatnot so I wouldn't take the chance of dyeing a cat or dog or any smaller mammal.
NO NO NOOOOO a person was going to dye a dog of my dgs litter n the breeder stoped her silly women (not u)
You can buy special dye for animals. I used to work in a grooming shop I we dyed a white poodle, red, and blue.

But only with special dye
