Ok. I own about a 1/2 acre of land in a pen that can be used for goats, cows, horses, ect. Anyways, There are two stalls, and the fence is 1 yard and 3/4's high. We rented out the land to a friend who is a member of 4H. They said they are ok with us putting two pygmy goats in with the cow. Ok so I'm getting 2 pygmy goats but i need somewere to keep them. Can they go in the same pen as the cow??
Any questions or need more info??

Yes you can.
We have cows,We also have goats Our pygmy goes in and out of the cows pen, and in and out with the horses. They will eat and sleep together.
The goats are so much faster then the cows and they get out of the way just as fast if there are any problems with the horses. ( not to say that things don't happen, any can happen)
Goats have been long keep as Buddy's for horses and cows, ext.. There great little Buddy's. So i wouldn't worry and have fun with them. best of luck
sure and you`ll also get some coats or gows
i would think the cows could step on them.then what?build a liitle shed for them...
1/2 an acre isn't a lot of room for a cow and goats. Goat's will eat anything and everything- in driving force. Those goat's will most likely eat that cow skinny, so I wouldn't recommend it. On top of that, goat's leave harmful and deadly bacteria behind in feed bins, water buckets, and licking post's. Without proper management, flies and harmful bacteria will irritate the cow. If you want goats- suggest that your friend find another piece of land for her cow. After all, it is your land. If you don't want goats badly enough to suggest another place for the cow, then I wouldn't bother getting goats.
you really shouldn't because the cow might hurt the goat becuse of their size difference. put them in their own stall. you really shouldn't put them in the same paddock but its not horrible if you do. the best thing is to split the pasture in half to avoid injuries to the goats
1/2 acre is not a lot of land- that is not enough for even one cow unless you want to do a lot of supplemental feeding. Either way, there will be no grass growing in that pasture within a week. You will need to buy some hay to feed them.
The standard rule, at least in my area with good pastures, is 1 cow, 6 goats, or 6 sheep or horse per acre.
The goats and the cow will get along fine- just make sure that the goats are old enough to be mobile- to get out of the cows way if need be.
The good thing is that goats and cows eat different things. Goats always go for the crappiest weediest parts of the pasture- we turn our goats out with the horses to help keep down the weeds. Unless all of 6 of our goats are unnaturally picky, they will not eat any rich foods such as alfalfa, which leaves the good stuff for the horses.
the pygmys may get out if the enclosure is made of barbed wire. Other than that they should be alright in the same pen as long as its big enough.
