Hamster Stories?

All we see on the pets question page are questions on hamsters that bite and are aggresive, do any of you own a cute, lovable, social hamster?

We have had our male syrian hamster for exactly a year now, and me and my husband adore him. He is a bit of a rascal, he has chewed his way through my sofa and my husbands 拢130 pair of jeans LOL! and escaped for 10 days on a big adventur e ( not so funny!) But he is a cute fat furball who never bites, loves to come out and play and likes gentle little kisses. I would love to hear your funny stories of hamsters.

I remember this one time when I wanted to get a hamster but my mom wouldn't let me. I talked my older brother into going to the pet shop and getting one. I get it and had it under my bed for a long time (once in the while he'd be chewing on something and my mom would come in and say "what was that?" I had to think of some kinda excuse and it worked!) Later on though winter was comming and it was like really cold in my room because it was on the far end of the house (not only that the pure little guy was under my bed!) School was going on and i hardly had time to take car of him anymore, and he got really ill and sick the next time i seen him. I though for sure he was gonna die, but I put him in the oven on a piece of wood and warmed him up a little. He was so hungry too and didn't have food to give him so gave him some baby food (squash flavored!) and right away he grow back his strength. I though for sure that poor little guy was going to die. It was soo weird he made it through all that.
