Guinea pigs and bunnies?

I was wondering if anyone had there bunny and guinea pig in the same cage i see them in the same cage all the time at pet stores so was wondering if it works out?
Answers:
I have a huge walk in cage where I let my rabbit, guinea pig and pet rats play.I go in with them and it is sooooo cool. They all get along fine when they are together, but I always keep them in there own cages if I'm not with them. I don't see why you couldn't keep them in the same cage as long as it was big enough and you had plenty of food and water for both of them.
Wow, what pet stores do you go to?
I had both, and they were wonderful companions, but they had separate cages (due to them requiring different formulated foods). They had daily outings, for play time together.

If they didn't require different dietary formulas, then they'd be fine to be housed together. But due to the different formulated foods, it could cause to be unhealthy for them to eat the other's food.
these creatures can safely live in the same habitat together. make sure their area is safe and has plenty of room for all animals. they need protection from the elements and fresh leafy green vegies, timothy hay, and water every day.
I would advise against it. Some pet stores do this, but it is dangerous.

Rabbits have very powerful back legs which often does great harm to the more fragile guinea pig. They also require different dietary requirements. Rabbits can be carriers of a bacteria called Bordetella which does not cause any illness in the rabbit but causes pneumonia in guinea pigs. Although not all rabbits carry this bacteria, most do and therefore should you wish to keep your guinea pig and save yourself several hundred dollars do not house them together.

If you are going to have both, spend the money and spring for two cages. Pet store are notorious for doing the wrong things. They are all about $$$ and not safety and health of the animals.
you should never house a guinea pig and a rabbit in the same cage. Rabbits have very powerful back legs and guinea pigs bones are very fragile. One kick of those back legs from the rabbit and the guinea pig would be seriously hurt.
I beleive that would be fine! =] %26 Good luck.
Better not putting the guinea pigs with bunnies. First of all the bunnies have a different diet from guinea pigs and also as the bunnies are bigger in size than guineapigs they could hurt the guinea pigs - sometimes it could work out but it is better to keep the guineapigs and bunnies in separately. Good luck!
