Guinea pigs/where to buy?
Answers:
Pet shop.
Local pet shops, or you can check local shelters %26 rescues to see if any are available for adoption.
try a pet shop that will be your best bet
ebay
i got my guniea pig at petsmart. they are very helpful and nice. i recommend to get yours there too.
Go to Get it from Petsmart or Petco or the acotics store too they have them
your best bet is to contact local breeders if you can also www.loot.com or www.classifieds.co.uk and www.findit.co.uk if you can try to steer away from pet shops they are expensive and some not all dont handle the guinea pigs good luck anyway
Do not go to a pet shop for a guinea pig. Why do you think the rescue centres are so full of rabbit and piggies. because people buy them from pet shops and then get bored with them because they grow into adults. Or, breeders produce them to supply pet shops. Please consider a rescue piggie.
You can find plenty of adoptable guinea pigs looking for homes.
Go to Petfinder, set the search criteria for "Small %26 Furry" in your area. You'll find everything from shelters to rescues to individuals.
Go to Guinea Lynx at http://www.guinealynx.com/rescues.html. You'll find their own list of rescues, as well as links to other sites dedicated to guinea pig adoption.
DO NOT breed or BUY while SHELTER animals DIE!
It is much better to Rescue than to buy from petstores. Petstores get their stock from breeding mills. Often the guinea pigs are unhealthy and untame.
Rescued guinea pigs have been treated and handled before going to new homes so this is your best bet!
Good luck!
You can get guinea pigs at most pet shops (be careful when picking though, make sure he/ she is lively, I have experience with my $300 in vet bills guinea pig. She is still alive today and I love her very much) They make great pets. Always have vitamin C!!!
you need to find an adoption center because most pet stores guinea pigs are ill
Pets at home. They give you advice and the guinea pigs a free health check when you buy them just to make sure everythings OK.
The best place is pets at home because you know they have been breed properly and they have a great range as well i have been getting my pets there for years they are great.have a look on there website for info www.petsathome.co.uk or if you do not live near a pets at home store a well nown breeders is your best bet good luck samx
Hi,
I have 4 guinea pigs (3 from rescue centres and 1 from pets at home).
I would always urge anyone to approach your local rescue centre before buying any animal from a pet shop.
As nice as the pet shop assistants may be, they often have little experience and knowledge of true animal welfare. I found this out to my expense when I purchased a guinea pig from pets at home... he had several health and behavioural problems, which only became apparent when I got home with him. Fortunately my local animal rescue centre and veterinary practise offered fantastic advice and I now have a lovely collection of 4 indoor guinea pigs... Beefy, Lamby, Chaz and Beryl.
Rescue centres offer love and attention to all the animals they look after. The animals they look after have often had a bad start in life and really need a loving home.
In addition to this, rescue centres often only ask for a donation, my local centre asks for 拢10 per guinea pig (pet shops often ask for 拢20+).
I hope this helps.
