Gerbil.?

Is it ok to give gerbils a bath? and if it is ok, then how do you do it?
Answers:
Gerbils should be given a chinchilla dust bath in a shallow bowl once or twice a week to keep their fur soft, clean, and shiny (they love it - but remove the bowl after about a half hour or it becames a potty). If you want you can give this to them every day.

People do wash their gerbils before a gerbil show, but then the gerbils sit in front of a space heater basking in the warmth until they are completely dry. If you don't do this, as others have said, they could get sick or die of chill. I don't think a pet gerbil should need a bath (with water and kitten shampoo though) like the show gerbils get.
Do not give your gerbils a bath. They are very prone to losing body heat fast, and it could make them very sick. If your gerbie is looking a little ruffled up or dirty, get some chinchilla sand, and put it in a bowl and offer it to your gerbils. Get the sand, the dust is incredibly dusty.
Never give a gerbil a water bath. You can however give them a sand bath using chinchilla sand. This much safer for them. A water bath can cause a respiratory infection in them.
No, they clean there own self's. =)
No Gerbils can not be bathed them groom themselves
I give my gerbil a bath with a washcloth with a little bit of dial soap. When I say a little bit I mean like one drop.
never ever get your gerbil a bath! it will kill it. but if you fill like you need your gerbil to get clean go to your local petstore and (petsmart) has a powder stuff that you gerbil will roll around in and it cleans them and the oder on them to!!
