Gerbil injury, help needed!!!?

3 days ago my 19 year old sis accidentally dropped my black 3 year old gerbil. at first she was shocked, and when we put her back in her cage and didnt come out of her house for a day. the next day we noticed that her toes on her left leg were tightly packed together and she refused to put her foot down, so she just limped. theres no sign of pain, and shes still pretty active. ( though she rests in her house longer then usual.) do you think shes crippled permanently? or is this a short term thing? please help!

theres a possibility that it might b permenant. but i would definetyly (if u have the time and money) c a vet. that way u can no 4 sure, that way, if there r even broken bones, u can c 2 it that they get the proper care they need (the broken bones/the whole leg i mean)
A hard fall like that is causing the animal pain especially the way you described the condition of the foot. Don't be surprised if the animal bites when you try to handle it. A lot of times after such a traumatic event, the animal bites to defend itself.
We have had animals brought into our shop that fell, were dropped, or had other injuries. I feel very sad for the animal.
