We were playing with my gerbil and when I put it back into the cage I noticed she was not using her back left leg. She can still walk but her leg isn't touching the ground when she is walking. It does touch the ground when she is eating.
Answers:
Give it a day or two. If it isn't better, call a vet who treat small animals and see if she/he recommends that you bring the gerbil in to be seen.
My guinea pig had a broken leg once, we took her to the vet and the vet put a cast on it. And now she is fine.
Julie, its Alexandra!!! Is Sherbet okay? let her rest over night, or a few days, then check to see if she uses her foot more.
