Does anyone know about security systems in the home?

In particular, I have a 50 lb. dog that could set-off the motion detector, thus involving the police. I will be charged if this happens. They must be aware that many people have dogs. The contract doesn't say anything about it. How can I be assured that 1. my dog won't set-off the alarm, and 2. I won't be responsible for the cost of involving police?
Has anyone else had this dilemma??

as the make pet proof motinon detector,.checkinto it as the alarm comppany who you have and installed may not offer it in order to make a buck off ya
why did you get a MOTION detecting security system if you have a dog?

keep the dog in a room that the system doesnt cover while it is on, or it WILL set it off and you WILL be charged.
.
All alarm systems have a way of 'disconnecting' or 'bypassing' the motion sensor when you are away and the dog is home. Check the manual that came with your system, or give them a call. A large dog would certainly trip the sensor, so bypassing is the easiest thing to do to avoid an unexpected visit from the local law enforcement.
