Sometimes with ferrets it is very hard to tell how much pain they are in. Don't worry too much about it tonight, just make sure you call your vet first thing tomorrow morning. Just keep an eye on him, espically when he's in his cage for the first 15 to 30 min to make sure that he won't injure himself further overnight.
I had something similar happen, where one of my ferrets had a broken hind leg. I had gone away overnight and didn't get back until late the next day, and my friend who had been watching my ferrets said that there was something wrong with Zibby. I wasn't able to get to a vet that night, and I had to bring her to the emergency hospital the next day (which was a sunday). It's not something that you can wrap, or put ice on since that might hurt it more. The x-ray showed that she did have a broken leg, but she never seemed to notice enough to stop doing her usual ferrety things. The only thing that the vet could do for her was give her a pain medication called Metacam, which she certainly did not mind taking. The bone healed in an over-lapped position since there was no way to set it and put a cast on it. She never seemed to have any pain or trouble at all, and she still runs around just as well as my other babies.
We have 6 ferrets and none of them have ever limped but I wouldn't worry about him/her. It could have been a sprain or something. If he/she has stopped by morning I wouldn't worry but if not I would call a vet.

Sometimes there are 24-hour emergency vet services for a county or region.
I wouldn't worry about it. I don't see a limp as being a symptom of a lifethreatening issue. Maybe you could have him/her spend more time in a cage or area where their mobility would be reduced to keep them from moving around on it until somebody can look at it.
I'd just leave him alone. That way he can rest that leg. Then take him to the vet as soon as you can tomorrow.
Emergency vet.
Ferrets are PROs at hiding their illnesses.
If your ferret is limping, then you should either A) find a 24-hour Emergency Clinic or B) keep him as still as possible (put him in a smaller cage and put his food and water within easy reach) until morning when you can bring him in to the vet. The vet will probably want to do a few x-rays and they're really not super expensive.
You can't put a price on piece of mind. If he's fine then hooray! But if he's broken something, or worse, has internal injuries (I'm assuming he fell from somewhere high) you will know soon enough to do something about it.
Like I said - ferrets are great at hiding illness. It won't hurt anything to bring him to the vet.

Hi, I'm also a ferret owner, and recently about 2 hours ago I was carrying a paper bag full of newspaper, maybe 4lbs, and the bag broke. It fell on one of my ferret baby's, jasper. After this happened I picked him up to see if anything was wrong and set him back down when I noticed that he was limping. I'm thinking it's a dislocation, it doesn't show any sign of a broken leg, but either a sprain or dislocation. I felt his leg and it very limp, but no sign of a lot of pain, although he comes running when he hears the treat bag, I don't have any emergency hospitals around where I live and if I do there very far away, maybe a 5 hour drive at the most, and the closest clinic is closed, and there are no ferret specialist there. I was wondering if any of you know a way to help him, or to at least no for sure?
